The Draka UC300 S26 is a premium, shielded Category 5e (Cat5e) data cable designed for high-integrity signal transmission. Part of the Universal Communications (UC) series, this F/UTP (Foil over Unshielded Twisted Pair) cable features an overall aluminum polyester foil shield, making it ideal for environments prone to Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) or "Alien Crosstalk." With its LS0H (LSZH) outer sheath, it is fully compliant with modern safety regulations for public and commercial infrastructure.

Technical Architecture & Performance

• Shielding (F/UTP): Features a high-coverage aluminum-laminated plastic foil shield with a tinned copper drain wire. This ensures total grounding and protects data packets from external noise and interference.

• Flexible Stranded Core: Utilizing AWG 26 stranded copper conductors, this cable is optimized for patch cord assembly, providing superior flexibility and durability against repeated bending compared to solid-core horizontal cabling.

• LS0H / LSZH Construction: The outer sheath is made of Low Smoke Zero Halogen material. In the event of a fire, it emits limited smoke and no halogen gases, protecting personnel and preventing acid damage to sensitive electronic equipment.

• 155MHz Bandwidth: While the Cat5e standard requires 100MHz, the UC300 is tested up to 155MHz, providing additional "headroom" for Gigabit Ethernet (1000Base-T) applications.

Technical Specifications

Technical Implementation Note: To maintain the Shielded (F/UTP) benefits, this cable must be terminated with Shielded RJ45 connectors (STP) and connected to a grounded patch panel. If used with unshielded connectors, the foil shield can act as an antenna and increase interference rather than mitigate it.
